it's key, nothing unites us quite like a common foe.

I've only read the books. Or the "trilogy in five parts" as they call it. That was a long time ago. I'd love to read it again.

I was thinking more of V for Vendetta.
Never seen the 1962 film have you? It's not just him that is brainwashed. The 2004 version hasn't a patch on the original....better quality though. But then this is 'modern times'.

It's also a book by Richard Condon. The book is more Communist based, so it's very much about controlling the people.

Oh haven't I? My point still stands. The remake is still fresh in my head though because it was only on last week. But I do think Johnny wants things a little less vague than "communism".

*shrugs* I just thought the book/movie/whatever had some relevance to Johnny's topic. I mean, the very idea of main control and brianwashing, for example.

I do admit though V for Vendetta is more relevant. So I stand corrected and shake my fist at you lot *shakes her fist at you lot*

NB: I know there's a typo in this post. But I thought it was hilarious, so am not going to change it :P

Becky, this is politics. Communism isn't about controlling people. It's about Socialism. Controlling people is called a? a?...a? that's right, a Dictatorship. Completely different concepts.

I think the governments take control by starting with those people whom are followers and not leaders. Especially when you have people who have no strong personality for themselves. You have a bigger mind basically taking over a smaller mind. Once you have those people, the rest of the population kinda doesn't have a choice at that point to resist. Not when more than half your country is already being a follower to the "big dogs". I hope some of what I just said made some sort of sense. :P
