its not a big deal to me. the tration for bdays in my family are that everyone calls that person on their birthday and sings happy birthday to you.and you get cards w/ money but no big gifts and no parties.

I'm glad no-one calls me on my birthday and sings to me. Everyone in my family, barr me and my Gran, are tone deaf. It'd be like an old violin string factory with no euthanasia program.

Christmas has almost nothing to do with Christ or his birth these days, it was a pagan holiday pre-christianity so I really wouldn't worry about it

according to the boondocks it was the time whem guys would have all guy orgies give gifts to each other and then go beat their wives.

sounds pluasable.
however from what I understand that was everyday roman life anyway.

so having a day for it would be like having a day for breathing

Yeah, wasn't it originally a festival to celebrate the sun not dying at the end of the year (tieing in with the shortest day on the 22nd)?

I was watching that eclipse in it's entirity the other night and I couldn't help but think about people hundreds of years ago who were still worshiping sticks and how they'd be shitting themselves.
