My grandpa has said he could run a car on water for years. The problem is that it would take more energy than you would save to actually make it work in the first place. I imagine it's the same story here. Electrolysis requires electricity if I remember correctly.

dunno, that news station is pretty legit.

Maybe it's just taking a long time to work out the kinks? they said the only functional process is a gas / water hybrid. Still, that would save money.

I dont like the idea of hybrid cars.

Not that i have anything against the way that they work.
but I really hate the reasons for them being hybrids in the first place.

gas = money

you make a car that requires none. and the rich people start getting upset.

I'm not saying it's not a good thing, it's just not as amazing as everyone seems to think it is. It's not like you can just pour water into this car and it'll work. Running your car is on vegetable oil, on the other hand, is a different story. Not much needs to be done to that. You don't even have to modify your car either.

but then doesnt the value of vegetable oil goes way up and add extra pressure on the farmer.

nobody can charge for water without looking like a dick.
all they can do is charge for the quality of it.

I'm talking about a waste product. A guy on TV did an experiment. He drove from one side of the country to the other in his totally unmodified car using nothing but waste vegetable oil from a chippy that was going to be chucked away. The government is trying to keep a lid on this because of taxes and all that shit.

that's true

it's just has to be filtered and put in a desil engine. Also, you have to start the engine on regular fuel, but i imagine if you're handy enough, it wouldn't be difficult to modify a car to inject regular fuel into the engine after hitting a toggle switch.

i don't think it's a big government secret, i just think people don't want to do it because it's a hassle to switch fuel sources like that.
