That sidebar SOOOOOOOOOOO reminds me of the hot corners/widgets that the MAC OSX Tiger uses. How much you want to bet that more than half of the new content is straight from the Mac software . . . the rest will be ideas from another OS that they stole from. Nice job Microsoft!

I've only briefly seen it. People rave on about the shininess but it's not important and it's not new either. Even Linux had it first to a certain extent. Check out this video. It shows Enlightenment DR17 (what Yellow Dog are going to use on the PS3) in the earlier stages.

I think that video is at least two years old. It's not bad for its age and it can probably do a lot more now. More recently, there has also been a lot of progress on something called Xgl, which is a lot more impressive. Here's a slightly blurry video of it in action.

That video looks fancy and all, but you'd need a real good graphics card to achieve that,

This should give you some idea of what's required. It probably requires a fair bit of CPU power too but I doubt it requires all that much system RAM. Graphics RAM is more important and if you're not playing a game, there's usually a fair bit of that to spare.

Are you referring to the music? I actually thought it was so good, I checked the band out. Machinae Supremecy. They do a lot of game-related stuff and use an actual SID chip (the sound chip from the Commodore 64) in their music. I found an awesome cover of the Pinball Dreams intro.

I have a new opinion on Vista. It's taking the PC industry to a very dark place. I've only read bits of this but that was more than enough. Read the FAQ at the bottom if you believe it to be biased or false.

That's a good article Chewi, it's always good to remain skeptic. But I'll wait to hear a few more opinions from both sides before making my final opinion. In the meantime I'm still stuck with my Mac OS X and my computer is becoming outdated as we speak. Might be upgrading from the G4 processor to one of those Dual Cores in the new Macs.

I thought it was fairly unbiased, myself.

Basically. Vista will run all my pirated material, just fine, but it will give me grief on my paid-for stuff. Genius.
