Well they can be, I guess that's where the name came from, but it's probably not what most people think of when they hear it. I guess it's about as relevant as "trainers" but then again, I only ever wear my trainers when I'm working out.

I think I first learned about sneakers from sonic the hedgehog. He didn't do much sneaking though, quite the opposite, so I was confused for ages.

My shoes are £10 no known brand. I'll wear them until they start to fall apart and then buy some more for £10.

but more cuzz im not too rough on them and they last me quite a while

I'm now at a point were the shoes I wear on any particular day depend on everything else im wearing.

i have three pairs i wear on a regular basis, but i have way too many to count. haha. the three i wear are all sandal,s my work shoes which are dressy black and white slip on low heal things, my casual sandals which are brown leather and cute as all get out, and my pink/purple scruffy bottomed flip flops. these i love, and wear them more than any of the others...but more oft then not...i go barefoot...even at work ahhaha. ironic ain't it? i have over 50 pairs of shoes, and prefer going barefoot.

Yeah, depending on my outfit, I'll choose some random shoes. Sometimes, I wear a nice dress and pair them with my custom-made leaf pattern sandels, but I then carry a pair of flip-flops in my purse, and switch them as soon as I've made an appearance with the pretty shoes.

Where I'm from, no one says sneakers. It's Tennis Shoes.. which got me really confused when I started playing tennis, and a kid suggested I go buy a pair of tennis shoes.

Man... wouldn't that be bad for Ben if I wasn't. How blind would you be without your glasses.

I'm female. I do own quite a few pairs of shoes. I don't particularily like shoe shopping... i find the whole ordeal somewhat painful because i like comfort... and girl shoes as a general rule aren't comfortable unless they are ugly or 'old lady'. Which is probably why my sister often calls my taste in shoes 'old lady'.

That is unless flat shoes or ballet slippers come into fashion like this season... now everyone is old lady.
Of what still gets worn of the collection i have
I own -4 pairs boots (2pr black knee high, 1 Brown calf back lace up, 1pr black ankle boots)
-2pr black heel'ed dress shoes
-1 pr aqua thongs (flip flops) (that mother mother wears for gardening....they are no longer mine)
-2pr slide shoes black.
-1pr black kitten heel anklet boot/shoe
-1pr black loafer
-1pr green dunlop volleys.
-1pr sneakers of the running variety not the tried hard casual type.

The newest of those shoes is at least 6months old and only brought because i had a wedding to go to and i forget my dress shoes.
and cause i work nearly all the time i'm tempted to get rid of all but the last 4 pairs because i just don't get the oppurtunity to wear them.

But then i don't think a trip of the shops requires a pair of gold leaf patented leather stillito's.

You'd have to be addicted to shoes to get all that....and their terms/names.types etc whatever.
