Ah, the legality of drinking. I remember the milestones well.

19: You can finally drink in Canada. Life is good if you live in Seattle, but you had better know someone who has a car.

21: You can finally drink in the United States. Every simple weekend becomes an endurance test. You revel in the freedom.

21.5: The novelty of public drinking is wearing off. The expense of nights out is sinking in, at approximately the same rate. You learn to be moderate and have fun.

28: You begin to except the reality that you have nothing to look forward to in life. You begin an intolerably long decline into old age. Drink reclaims a central role in your life.
