Re: Where are they now ?
Funny, Marna was trying to use Skype tonight and I said just use Hangouts. This kind of shit was supposed to stay in the 90s. I've actually given up now, I don't even bother with IM any more. If you need me, it's email or IRC. Or Slack but only at work.

Spambot registrations
I thought upgrading this board would reduce the number of spambot registrations, not that there were many before. Now we're averaging around one per day! I initially tried switching to reCaptcha but that hasn't helped. I've just reduced the number of retries. Maybe I should disable registrat...

Re: phpBB 3.2 and PostgreSQL migration
Well damn, I actually did update to phpBB 7 when I said I would. It definitely seems faster. I've also fixed the all important smilies and added the two new ones we were missing. Made them look better with the dark theme too.

Re: phpBB 3.2 and PostgreSQL migration
Okay, so it only took me 2½ years to get around to the phpBB 3.2 bump. Now I can upgrade to phpBB 7. I'll do that tomorrow.... maybe.

His member name here now is Reaping-Sorrow. I didn't know much about him, if I'm honest. Sorry to hear he went through some shit.

Re: Hey Everyone!
Been a busy old week with my birthday, wedding anniversary, and moving Aura from an external USB hard drive to an internal SATA SSD. Time to chillax with some Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Re: phpBB 3.2 and PostgreSQL migration
Oookay so I may have broken the place for just shy of a whole year. I would have fixed it sooner but because the migration seemed to work initially and no one contacted me directly, I figured there was just some minor issue. It wasn't until I tried to post today that I realised how bad it was. :oops...

phpBB 3.2 and PostgreSQL migration
As you may have seen in the other thread, I'm going to get this place upgraded to phpBB 3.2. It's just been released and I'm now taking care of the phpBB package for Gentoo Linux. I'd ideally like to only run PostgreSQL without MySQL in future, especially on the small ARM box I plan on using, so I'v...

Re: Like, whoa..
I've decided it's going to stay. Gentoo Linux was going to remove the phpBB package as no one was looking after it. Even though I haven't been using the package, I thought that would be a shame so I've stepped up. This place will be useful to test it with. I'll upgrade to 3.1 or maybe 3.2 soon.

Hosting isn't a problem at all, it's just the ongoing upkeep.

While I'll probably put up a page to the effect of "Aura woz 'ere", I'll also send out a mass mail to let people know so they can pay their respects.

Re: Like, whoa..
I know it's unthinkable but I'm actually considering calling time on this place. phpBB 3.0 is about to be EOL'd and as well as updating to 3.2, I'd ideally need to migrate it to PostgreSQL to host it on the device I have in mind. It's a lot of effort for a bit of nostalgia.
