Re: How is everyone?!
Yeah, the tutor that takes us isn't the best programmer, he has his PhD in Physics of all things. Another that took us for Java last year is an amazing mathematician. I have him take em for Computational Mathematics this year and he's brilliant. Very easy to learn from and a nice guy. I considered a...

Re: We're moving!
Sorry, was a "first post in months, let's take a stab at James and Linux" thing. It wasn't very good :/ I'd be interested in hearing what you are going to use to host the site on. You said some sort of ARM device? Sounds fun :D If my connection was better I'd be up for doing something like...

Re: How is everyone?!
At the moment I'm just developing a "3D Render Core" to render a scene. Creating the lighting, mesh loading, camera etc. The tutor practically gave us one that worked entirely and said we can change things to suit out needs, but I've opted to rewrite it because it wasn't very object-orient...
Re: New Baby!
Haha, we've already settled on a name and it's quite a Christmas-y one
EDIT:
We've already got family told straight too, they can't bundle them both into one gift giving thing. Would be a tad unfair if they did :/

Re: How is everyone?!
Working my way through year two of "Becoming a game programmmer dude" Learning C++ and DirectX 9 at the moment. Next semester I'll be tackling HLSL, which sounds like an absolute joy. C++ is a pussy cat. Not quite sure what the fuss about it being a bitch was all about. DirextX, on the oth...
Re: New Baby!
I'm due a little bundle of joy myself at the end of this month!
When was Kayla born, James? Was it Christmas day? I'm hoping ours holds off until AFTER Christmas day. Being an atheist it'd be too much to bare :/

If you used Windows, this wouldn't have happened.

Re: The Next Generation
The number of fucks I give about this generation is very, very low. It's between 0 and 0. I'll stick to my glorious PC gaming master race.

Re: Game of Thrones: How are you guys not discussing this se
That was a marvellous scene and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a man-crush on Charles Dance. However, I am holding out hope for something akin to how he spoke to Cersei. The grit in his teeth as he says "you will do as commanded". Tyrion Lannister: [responds snarkily and angrily] I was we...

Re: Game of Thrones: How are you guys not discussing this se
I think the series does a fucking fantastic job of outlining how much of a psychotic fuck Ramsey Snow is. That's quite possibly the whole point behind the Theon scenes. I agree with Will. Daenerys Targaryan is easily my favourite character. She's the mother of dragons and she's brutal. Though, I'm q...

Re: Final Fantasy 8
I quite like this game in the series. Square-Enix are re-releasing it on PC in "HD" I.E. Widescreen. I'll grab that, like I grabbed FFVII when they "re-released" that as well. I had to download a music pack that replaced all the MIDI files with the original PS1 music that was muc...
Re: Fringe
Totally agree. I watched the final episodes last night and I was happy with how it ended, which was much unlike how I felt when LOST ended. That was a mixture of "what the fuck just happened?" and "I want the last 3 years I've invested in this show back.". But yeah it's a great s...
