Re: phpBB 3.2 and PostgreSQL migration
Just doing a test post now I've updated to 3.3.1. Should have done it ages ago, bloody security vulnerabilities.

Re: This is still here? Woot!
Hello, you two. :P Yeah, I broke it for a while but didn't notice. You could look around but not post. Hard to tell there's a problem with the latter these days. I'm well, which probably means I'll break it again soon. A phpBB upgrade is overdue and I'm finally getting fibre broadband in a week's ti...

Re: Tool on streaming
I'm still quite the luddite in some respects and this is one of them. It's important to me to have an actual copy of the stuff that cannot be taken away. I still mostly buy CDs, partly because they're often cheaper than downloads, but often because you can't beat the permanence of physical. I rip th...

You may mean the SSD in my ARM box. Yeah, it may make Aura a few nanoseconds faster but it's still only 32GB. :P It's less of a novelty 6 years on but I still don't have an SSD in my main desktop. Yeah, I totally mixed you two up since you were but a wee lad when I saw you last. Never better....

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire: ADWD [Spoiler Zone]
Though, I do have to question, did Margery really lose her V to someone already? Clearly she didn't bump uglies Renly with and Joffery didn't seem to touch her. I don't know about the books but I certainly got that impression from the show, particularly from a conversation she had with Sansa. Just ...

Glad I could help in preserving that embarrassment online forever.

I take your 13 years and raise you 15 as I still haven't finished Half-Life 2!
I did fire it up last month.

Re: So, what's everyone up to?
You did the important bit, that's what really counts to most employers. Hell, only one employer ever asked for my degree certificate. I'm real proud of you anyhow, man. You've come a long way. As for me, I'm at Metaswitch, which is a veeery big change from all the small startups and otherwise tiny p...

I've doubled the limit to a hefty 512KB now. Yeah, I'm tight, deal with it.
Cool pic. I think you're looking better recently.

I saw them but eh, one domain is enough for anybody and I'm rather attached to this one. I would like aura.uk but Nominet are a bunch of corrupt bastards. I don't know what the hell they're playing at right now.

Re: Where are they now ?
Funny, Marna was trying to use Skype tonight and I said just use Hangouts. This kind of shit was supposed to stay in the 90s. I've actually given up now, I don't even bother with IM any more. If you need me, it's email or IRC. Or Slack but only at work.

Spambot registrations
I thought upgrading this board would reduce the number of spambot registrations, not that there were many before. Now we're averaging around one per day! I initially tried switching to reCaptcha but that hasn't helped. I've just reduced the number of retries. Maybe I should disable registrat...

Re: phpBB 3.2 and PostgreSQL migration
Well damn, I actually did update to phpBB 7 when I said I would. It definitely seems faster. I've also fixed the all important smilies and added the two new ones we were missing.
Made them look better with the dark theme too.

Re: phpBB 3.2 and PostgreSQL migration
Okay, so it only took me 2½ years to get around to the phpBB 3.2 bump.
Now I can upgrade to phpBB 7. I'll do that tomorrow.... maybe.
